On September 1st, the reporter met with overseas employees of Daqing Geophysical Exploration Company who had just returned triumphantly from the construction of the 3D seismic acquisition project in Venezuela. They excitedly said, "The project was completed two months ahead of schedule and we received $61 million back. Our team has once again gained experience in the international market."

    As of mid August, the Venezuela project department of Daqing Geophysical Exploration Company has successfully completed the 3D seismic acquisition construction in the Barinas operation area in just 10 months, which is two months less than the contracted time. In the homework, the project completed a total construction volume of 934 square kilometers, with over 23900 shots and a measurement length of over 4700 kilometers. There were 1500 points each for electrical, gravity, and magnetic methods.

    The Barinas work area project in Venezuela began design in 2007 and was temporarily shelved due to various factors such as social environment and the world financial crisis. At the beginning of 2011, the Barinas work area project resumed bidding. It is the first 3D seismic acquisition project in Venezuela after the resumption of bidding, and also the project with the highest contract amount and the highest construction difficulty since Daqing Drilling Geophysical Exploration Company entered the South American market.

    The geological conditions and working environment of this block are very complex, with 3 main rivers and 15 tributaries within the work area. Dividing the work area into several blocks has brought great difficulty to construction. The unpredictable climate in Venezuela makes it difficult to carry out production organization work and greatly affects the accuracy of data collection.

    To ensure construction quality and progress, the project department urgently mobilized an advanced 428 instrument from China, added 15 tractor drilling rigs, and supplemented external equipment such as 4043 collection stations. In just 7 months, the surface investigation, measurement, and drilling operations were completed to high standards, which was recognized by Party A.

    "When venturing into overseas markets, the technical service requirements are quite high. We rely on solid technical strength and a serious work attitude. We do not allow any flaws in seismic data interpretation, otherwise we will lose integrity," said Wang Jiesheng, Deputy Manager of the Project Department.

    At present, Daqing Geophysical Exploration Company has completed the construction of 2D seismic acquisition in Mongolia and 3D seismic acquisition in Venezuela in overseas markets, which has trained the team and accumulated experience.
